United Way Chili Cook-Off slated Sept. 20 at mall

The Crow Wing County United Way is getting ready for the Chili Cook-Off on Sept. 20 in the Westgate Mall.

This event is the kickoff for the annual fall drive.

Those wishing to participate need to contact the United Way office. A limited number of teams can be accommodated, so teams should register soon. Non-profit organizations, corporate groups and celebrities/restaurants are all invited to take part. A tasters' choice award will be presented. Teams are limited to three people.

To register contact the United Way office at 829-2619. The cook-off will be open to the general public at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 20 to taste the chilis. Cost is $4 per person. Deadline for registering teams is Sept. 1.
