Many thanks to the businesses and individuals who helped make the second annual Brainerd High School Alumni (and others) Golf Tournament a success.
July 18th was a fabulous day in every way, but wouldn't have been what it was had it not been for the generosity of many. Thanks to our hole sponsors and prize donors, including Bernick's, Brainerd Dispatch, Bremer Bank, Brother's Motor Sports, C&L Distributing, Deerwood Bank, Denny Hecker, Dondelinger Automotive, Heartland Home Healthcare, Floor to Ceiling, Lake Country Journal, Mickey's Pizza and Subs, Mills Automotive Group, Nisswa Tax Service, Northern Speech Pathology, Sertoma Sunrise, Shep's on Sixth, Triangle Oil, UBS Financial, Weizenegger Engel Insurance and Wes Hanson Builders.
Thanks to the staff at The Legacy Courses at Cragun's for their hospitality and for providing the perfect backdrop for this fundraiser.
Special thanks to Chip Lohmiller who, so graciously, served as this year's Honorary Golf Chair.
Last, but certainly not least, thanks to the 68 golfers who realized the importance of this fundraiser and participated in a wonderful day of fun and friendship in the name of providing scholarships for high school students.
Over $3,000 was raised in memory of former Brainerd High School teacher and coach Mark Embretson. This money will go entirely to the Brainerd Schools Foundation to be given out through scholarships in the coming years. One day of golf will have a lasting impact on the lives of many students for years to come.

Thank you, Breezy officers
Recently I suddenly experienced difficulty breathing due to a severe allergic reaction to hazel nuts. My family quickly dialed 911 and within minutes the Breezy Point Police Department responded with four obviously well trained, highly qualified officers. They were comforting and caring as they asked questions in regards to what happen, what I had eaten, any allergies to medicines, etc. Within minutes they injected me with Benadryl, anti inflammatory medicines and administered an IV. When the North Memorial ambulance arrived I was ready to leave for the hospital without delay.
I would like to thank the officers for their wonderful work, and their care and concern for my safety. Additionally, thanks to the city of Breezy Point for providing such a professional police force and the first response training of your officers. The kind of professionalism that we witnessed doesn't happen with support of the whole city.
