Officials of Lakeland Mold Co. announced to the Brainerd City Council Monday that their firm plans to construct a 12,000 square foot building in the Industrial Park. Employment should increase from 11 to 35 within the next five years.

30 years ago (1978)

Fall quarter enrollment at the Brainerd Community College has reached approximately 420, according to Dale Nathan, dean of students.

40 years ago (1968)

Photographer Oz Wik, claiming both low net and gross honors with scores of 30 and 39, captured the First Annual Seniors Golf Tourney at the Brainerd Golf Course Tuesday in a field of 32 players.

Flying in last night about 5 p.m. from Crosby, Paul Hennick, owner, and Paul L. Carpenter, pilot, both of Crosby, landed safely at the Rosko Flying Field. They have a Waco 10 brand new plane.

The football boys earnestly request the public to attend the roller skating party tonight to assist in raising funds to equip the team. They promise a good time for all who attend.
