20 years ago (1984)

Thirteen Brainerd men's and women's softball teams will be entered in District Five slow pitch tournament action this weekend at St. Cloud, Perham and Fergus Falls.

30 years ago (1974)

Brainerd employment went up for the fourth month in a row in July compared with July of 1974. The increase was 97.

40 years ago (1964)

The first key to the city of Brainerd to be presented beyond the boundaries of this country was made by David Ebert in Austria. Ebert, the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Ebert is spending the summer in Austria. Mayor Clyde Gorham gave Ebert the key to be presented to the mayor of the city where he was to make his home for the summer.

60 years ago (1944)

The Brainerd Lions roared last night to the tune of an 8 to1 victory over the Rotarians, in the deciding game of the three-game series between the two clubs.

80 years ago (1924)

Formal announcement was made today by W.H. Cleary, president and manager of the Brainerd Wholesale Grocery Co. that the business has been sold to the Nash Finch Company of Minneapolis.

100 years ago (1904)
