STAPLES -- Chris Anderson, Britta Binek, Amy Gaugert and Shawn Webster of Staples, Rose Milless of Motley and Carrie Loberg of Bertha were hired at Lakewood Health System as summer interns.
Funding for the Summer Health Care Intern Program is provided by Lakewood Health System through a contract with the Office of Rural Health and Primary Care, Minnesota Department of Health.
The intent of this program is to expose students to careers in the health-care profession.
Anderson is in his second year at the University of Minnesota.
Binek is a 2004 graduate of Staples-Motley High School and will attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Gaugert, a 2004 graduate of Staples-Motley High School, will attend Concordia College in Moorhead.
Webster plans to pursue a nursing career at Anoka Community and Technical College.
Milless is a 2004 graduate of Staples-Motley High School and plans to attend Moorhead State University.
Loberg, a 2004 graduate of Bertha, plans to attend Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.
The summer interns observe and participate in various aspects of patient care. The summer interns started in June and continued with Lakewood Health System through the first week of August.
