Bees' season ends in region

COLD SPRING - The Brainerd Bees season ended last weekend with two losses in the Region 8B tournament.

In Round One, Brainerd lost to Sauk Rapids 2-0. Tate Rusk was 2-for-4 and Pat Skogen 1-3 to lead the Bees at the plate.

Chris Smolke pitched all eight innings. He allowed four hits and two earned runs, struck out one, walked three and hit one.

In the losers bracket Sauk Rapids eliminated the Bees 5-0. Tom Fairbanks and Kyle Crocker were 2-4 and Rusk and Tim Martin added singles.

Tim Martin pitched eight innings. He gave up eight hits and three earned runs, had four strikeouts and no walks.

In one inning Burrell Flanagan gave up a hit and struck out one.
