ROCHESTER - Devin Ramirez started for the Brainerd Blue Thunder and faced just two batters.
That's how things went in the season finale for Brainerd as it lost 13-1 Monday to the Rochester Honkers to finish the second half 13-24.
Rochester's Jeff Edlefsen held the Blue Thunder to five hits and one earned run. He walked one and struck out four for the complete-game victory.
Ramirez gave up two straight singles to Justin Hilts and Dallas Tarleton to lead off the bottom of the first inning. He was replaced by Brett Kramer, who allowed nine hits, seven runs, five earned and three walks over three innings. Six of those runs came in the first inning. The Blue Thunder used five pitchers in all.
Rochester owned a 13-0 lead before Nick Jelacie walked to open the sixth and later scored on Jeff Lockwood's single for Brainerd's only run.
The Blue Thunder were 10-19 in the first half for a 23-43 overall season.
