Baxter blanked

ABERDEEN, Md. - Cayden Hatcher dominated.

The Southeast Lexington pitcher held Baxter to three hits and no runs over four innings leading his team to a 13-0 victory Monday in the third round of the Cal Ripken World Series.

Hatcher helped is own cause hitting from the No. 9 position. He went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI. Tyler Wagner hit a double and triple and drove in three runs and scored twice. Luke Rouse was 2-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run as Lexington collected 14 hits.

Baxter's Thomas Stoxen hit a double and Cole Smith and Jake Ellingson picked up the team's other hits.

Hatcher struck out two, walked two and faced just 16 batters.

Drew Sannes pitched the loss. He allowed nine hits, nine earned runs and three walks. He picked up one strikeout. T.J. Graumann pitched the third inning and gave up five hits and three earned runs. He also had a strikeout.

Baxter (1-2) has Tuesday off before taking on Jupiter, Fla. at the Cal Sr.'s Yard 5 p.m. Wednesday.
