Sgt. Matthew C. Hamilton, son of Theresa Hamilton and Michael Hamilton, is currently serving in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is supporting the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, which is headquartered in eastern North Carolina.

HMSR Mitchell P. Gilb, son of Paul and Jeri Gilb, Merrifield, recently graduated from Recruit Training Corrand at Great Lakes Naval Base in Great Lakes, Ill. He will attend "A" School in Great Lakes as a hospital corpsman.
Air National Guard Tech. Sgt. Shawn A. Speed, son of Tom and Cheryl Speed, Wadena, is currently deployed overseas at a forward operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a munitions systems specialist with 13 years of military service, is normally assigned to the 148th Fighter Wing, Duluth.
Army National Guard Spc. Stephanie E. Leach, daughter of Stan C. and Maggie R. Leach, Brainerd, recently graduated from the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Operator Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Huachuca, Sierra Vista, Ariz.
Air National Guard Master Sgt. Mark J. Wasserbauer, son of Anthony Joseph and Tomoko Wasserbauer, Crosby, is currently deployed overseas at a forward operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a first sergeant with 14 years of military service, normally assigned to the 148th Fighter Wing, Duluth.
Army National Guard Pvt. Ryan B. Weigett, son of Dean A. Weigett, Crosslake, and Nancy J. Weigett, Aitkin, recently graduated from the Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Md.
Jordan B. Sams, son of Dallas Sams, Staples, and Elaine M. Sams, Staples, recently graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge," at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash.
Oak W. Plested, son of Jean F. Plested, Brainerd, has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from Officer Training School (OTS) at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Ala. The new lieutenant will attend undergraduate pilot training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas.
