William R. Thomas

CROSBY - William Russell Thomas, 91, Crosby, died Aug. 5, 2009, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village, Brainerd. He was born to James and Selma (Seedland) Thomas in Ironton on Dec. 7, 1917. William served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor survivor.

William was an avid guitar player and card player. He is survived by his wife, Myra; two sons, Robert Thomas, Fergus Falls, and Dale Thomas, Crosby; one daughter, Bonnie Sienko, Dent; one sister, Genevieve Johnson, Shoreview; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Gerald Thomas; four brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
