Michael V. Tibbetts
BANDERA, Texas - Mike Tibbetts, of Bandera, Texas, formerly of Aitkin, Minn., died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, in Zimmerman, Minn., at the home of longtime friend, Kathy Kokesh. He was born May 31, 1939, in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Mike was the owner and operator of Mike's Excavating. Mike's Excavating was instrumental in building Crosby High School, Aitkin High School, 40 Club Motley and Banquet Hall and several other projects in Aitkin County.
Mike is survived by his children, Michael (Maribeth), John (Susie) and Teri; former wife, Karen; grandchildren, Michael Jr., Patti, Daniel, Nicholas, Toni, Debraann, Acacia, Kedrick, Tina, Robert and Nicolle; brothers, Richard (Marva) and Steve; sisters, Mary (David) and Cyndi; and his "boys," Law and Order.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Kathryn; brothers, Ronnie, Matt; son, Tim; nephews, Neil and Greg.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, also at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will be at Garrison Township Cemetery.
