Gerald Thon
STAPLES -- Gerald Thon, 82, Staples, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.
He was born on June 7, 1923, in Brainerd to Arthur and Goldie (Lund) Thon. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was a railway express clerk for the railroad. He was a kindhearted soul and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Tom) Goff, of Pillager, and Patricia (Tim) Scrimshaw, of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Goldie (Dan) Mathison, Frances (Shawn) O'Rourke, Kelly Goff, K. Ann Goff, Joshua (Adrienne) Scrimshaw and Joseph Scrimshaw; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd with Pastor David Holte officiating.
Arrangements are with Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd.
