TAMARACK -- Helen Elizabeth Marston, 95, Big Round Lake north of Tamarack, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at the Cloquet Nursing Home in Cloquet.
She was born Oct. 2, 1905, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Charles and Mabel (Ruhe) Githens. She graduated from Ottumwa High School and attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. She was a member of the National Sorority Alpha XI Delta. She also attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. She married Wesley Marston on March 21, 1925, in Ottumwa. They lived in Western Springs, Ill., for 35 years and were active members of the First Methodist Church. She was also an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In 1959, they moved to Cloquet. She was a member of the Round Lake Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Sherry, Big Round Lake; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband died in 1971 and a sister, Rosemary Miller Piersol, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Round Lake Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Yingling officiating. Burial will be in the Round Lake Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today and one hour before services Monday at the church.
