The saga of the runaway buffalo has ended. The yearling buffalo roaming area woods was recaptured Friday after it followed a herd of cattle into a farmer's barn three miles northeast of Pequot Lakes.

Brainerd's new College Drive bridge is nearly completed, with ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the $1,060,000 structure set for 11 a.m. next Friday. The grand opening will be the end result of nearly 10 years of planning.

"Alfalfa Day," an annual event for the county, will be held at the experimental field at Crow Wing on Saturday, Aug. 15. The experimental field is under the supervision of the University of Minnesota.

Rev. William Moody will have charge of the service at St. Paul's Church for the last time Sunday before he leaves for Georgia where he becomes general missionary of that state and chaplain for the bishop of the diocese.
