LITTLE FALLS -- Mildred H. (Martinson) Shutter, 83, Little Falls, formerly of Randall, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, of ovarian cancer.
She was born Dec. 22, 1918, in Randall to Herman and Anna (Strand) Martinson. She grew up in the Randall area and attended country school. She married Ross Shutter on Sept. 3, 1938. They lived on a farm near Randall. She moved to Little Falls 10 years ago. She served as a foster mother for more than 20 years. She was a member of Lincoln Evangelical Free Church until she moved to Little Falls. She then joined Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Little Falls. She was active in the Solid Rock Bible Camp.
Survivors include one son, Bud Shutter, Long Prairie; three daughters, Lynn Lewis, Freeport, Sherry McGrady, Randall, and Bitsy Spencer, Little Falls; one brother, Richard Martinson, Turlock, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her husband, who died in April 1983; one daughter, Helen Karren; one brother, Roy Martinson; and an infant sister died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Greggrey Valentine and the Rev. Lyndon Roesler officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls and one hour before services Tuesday at the church.
