Mace joins J.C. Penney's Styling Salon

Shauna Mace, Crosby, joined J.C. Penney's Styling Salon in Brainerd.

She recently worked in St. Cloud. She is a graduate of the Model College of Hair Design in St. Cloud.

In-Fisherman's show gains No. 1 rating

In-Fisherman Television was the No. 1-rated fishing show on TNN during the second quarter of 2002, making it the largest watched fishing program on any single network during that period.

In-Fisherman Television airs to a nationwide audience on the TNN channel. Third quarter In-Fisherman Television programs air at 1 p.m. on Saturdays -- In-Fisherman Classics and Sundays -- In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail.

In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail Television covers the latest techniques, tactics and equipment used to catch walleyes across the country.

Nisswa business after-work event set

NISSWA -- The Nisswa Chamber of Commerce's monthly after-work networking event, Nisswa at Night, is set from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Nisswa Chiropractic.

The event is hosted by Derrek Johnson, doctor of chiropractic. Refreshments will be served. R.S.V.P. is requested. There is no cost to attend.

Burgstaler receives SHS award

AITKIN -- Edwin A. Burgstaler, Byron, son of Ed and Helen Burgstaler, Aitkin, recently received the SHS Award from the American Society of Apheresis, a national organization, at the annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.

This award commemorates the pioneering efforts of SHS that have culminated in the high standards and sophistication which characterize the field of American apheresis. Its recipient is a hemapheresis specialist who has demonstrated commitment to apheresis and who has emerged as a leader and role model in the field.

The Society of Hemapheresis Specialists was the first national organization in the United States that provided a forum for the professional development of technical specialists in the field of apheresis, a specialized procedure where blood is separated and specific components removed while attached to a patient or donor. Burgstaler has worked in transfusion medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for 27 years.

LF Sears has new owners

LITTLE FALLS -- Area residents Tony and Shelley Glenz are the new owners of the Sears Retail Dealer Store on Lemieur Street in Little Falls.

The Little Falls store is one of more than 760 retail dealer stores opened since June 1993. Tony and Shelley Glenz completed one week of comprehensive training at the Sears suburban Chicago headquarters to prepare for ownership of the dealer store in Little Falls.

Norberg joins Russell & Herder

Jennifer Norberg joined Russell & Herder, marketing and creative services firm in Brainerd, as head of the consumer services group.

She will supervise health care, wireless communications and financial services clients.

Norberg has experience in communications management and strategic planning. She was appointed director of public affairs for the Minnesota Department of Health with the Arne Carlson administration. She served as chief agency spokeswoman and was responsible for all communication and public affairs activities for the 1,500-person agency.

In her private practice, Norberg managed the statewide Fetal Alcohol Syndrome public awareness campaign, as well as a number of other public health related campaigns.

She served as a senior account supervisor for GCI Tunheim and a counselor for Carmichael Lynch Sponge where she managed such client relationships as Medtronic, Allina, The Rasmussen Heart Center at the University of Minnesota Hospital, Marshall Field's and Target.
