Girl hurt in tubing accident on Gull Lake

EAST GULL LAKE - A 16-year-old girl was injured in a water tubing accident at about 1:24 p.m. Wednesday on Gull Lake, the Cass County Sheriff's Department reported.

The girl, whose name wasn't immediately released by the sheriff's department Wednesday afternoon but who was said to be a Brainerd area resident, was apparently being pulled on a tube behind a boat when the accident happened. She was rescued from Gull Lake, near Gull Point, by the Cass County Sheriff's Department, the DNR and the Pillager Fire Department.

The sheriff's department reported the girl couldn't move her legs following the injury and was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital.
