Parents may be happy to learn that it won't cost any extra for their children to eat lunch and breakfast in Brainerd schools during the 2005-2006 school year.
The Brainerd School Board Monday authorized no price increase for lunch and breakfast prices for 2005-06 and approved price increases for some a la carte food items and banquets.
Because federal reimbursement rates for free and reduced price meals have increased this year, no regular breakfast and lunch meal price increases were made.
The board approved the girls' swimming and diving cooperative agreement with the Crosby-Ironton School District.
The board hired the following new certified employees: Michele Collins, second-grade teacher; John Jacobson, dean of students; Janelle Ortiz, ECSE teacher; Michael Svir, fourth-grade teacher; Heather Wagner, kindergarten/Title 1 teacher; and Jessica Hebeisen, special education teacher.
