The Nisswa Lions Club will sell what one resident called "the best corn in town" Saturday to raise funds to continue late activity bus service to the community.

30 years ago (1973)

It's noon at St. Joseph's Hospital. A "waitress" brings a menu to the patient and the patient selects the dishes he or she wants to eat. That's the way it happens for three meals a day now at St. Joseph's as a result of a new dietary program which went into effect this week.

40 years ago (1963)

The Crow Wing County commissioners yesterday set the compulsory retirement age for all county employees at 65 years of age.

80 years ago (1923)

The first to report a fall of prices in gasoline in Brainerd was the Northwestern Oil Company. The new price would be 17.8 cents and the high test 20.8.

100 years ago (1903)

The doctors have gone to greener fields and left a line of suckers behind them that would reach from Crow Wing to Milwaukee. They did not "show" on the streets the last two nights.
