Living the Folklife
A variety of folk musicians - including Elisa Korenne of New York Mills, Caitlin Robertson (above) of Seattle and Nita Velo of Nashville, Tenn. - will perform at the Old Wadena Rendezvous and Folklife Festival from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sunday at Old Wadena County Park north of Staples. Admission is $5-$10.

Friends indeed
Brainerd's Imaginary Friends, the second-place band in last month's Youth as Resources Battle of the Bands, will perform at a CD release party at 9 p.m. Friday at Yesterday's Gone in downtown Brainerd. Admission is free.
THURSDAY-SATURDAY: ART
Art attack
The 24th annual Crosslake Art Club Art Show will be from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday at the Crosslake Community Center and Library, with demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily. Also, Diane Runberg's art is featured at the library. Admission is free.

Under the sky
If you like your music outdoors, this is your week. Four concerts in four area parks will be held in the next four days. Admission is free; bring your own blanket or lawn chair. The performers are:

Miller Papke Duo (rock/folk), 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Town Square, Crosslake.
Kelsey Rae (singer/songwriter), 3 p.m. Sunday, Maple Island Park, Little Falls.
Johnny Jay Huhta (country/rockabilly), 7 p.m. Sunday, Northern Pacific Park, Staples.
