NHRA drivers to appear on behalf of Kinship

Three NHRA drivers will make appear Wednesday at the Westgate Mall from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.

Darryl Hitchman (Top Alcohol Dragster), Ron Bray (Pro Stock Snowmobile) and Shawn Gann (Pro Stock Bike) will be available to sign autographs and chat with fans. Fans may also have their pictures taken with drivers for $5. Freewill donations to benefit Kinship Partners also will be accepted.

C-I finishes third in Sweet Sixteen

The Crosby-Ironton boys' basketball team defeated Tartan 60-53 for third place in the Pacesetter Sweet Sixteen Basketball Championship Sunday at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph.

C-I opened with a 73-45 win over Princeton and beat Mounds View 66-49 in the quarterfinals. Hopkins beat C-I 78-68 in the semifinals.

The annual event features the top-four teams in each class as projected by the Minnesota Basketball News staff, which provides the rankings for each class.

Weightlifting contest Saturday at Nisswa

The 14th annual Nisswa Crazy Days weightlifting contest is scheduled to begin at noon Saturday in the parking lot at the Nisswa American Legion parking lot.
