Hwy. 25 detour lifted with single-lane traffic to Aug. 17

Motorists should plan for single-lane traffic along a 26-mile segment of Highway 25 through Aug. 17 as crews complete paving operations.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane between Fourth Avenue in Pierz and three-tenths of a mile south of Highway 18 in Brainerd.

Flaggers and a pilot car will control traffic during the remaining paving operations. Motorists are reminded to obey the directions of all traffic control staff and watch for heavy equipment in the work zone.

On Aug. 3, crews lifted the detour required to complete culvert replacements.

The Highway 25 project includes turn lane construction and a new bituminous pavement surface.

Central Specialties Inc., of Alexandria, is the prime contractor for the $3 million safety improvement project. The project is expected to be completed in early September, weather permitting.
