Women's anxiety/depression therapy group
The INSIGHT program is a short-term, life-enhancing group learning program for women. It was designed to prevent and reduce depression and stress related problems.
Jeanne Kurtz, licensed psychologist, will facilitate 20 90-minute group sessions. These structured meetings are based on a cognitive learning program developed by the clinical research of Verona C. Gordon and offer step-by-step strategies to improve coping skills, strengthen self-esteem and improve communication.
The first meeting for this new group is scheduled for Oct. 8 and will be at St. Joseph's Medical Center.
Each participant will need to purchase a workbook for $65 and have a diagnostic assessment prior to admission to the group. The group is limited to 10 women. To make referrals or obtain further information, call the Counseling Center at 828-7379.
Holbrook reunion is today
The annual Holbrook reunion will be conducted today at Baxter City Park. Coffee is at 10:30 a.m. A church service is at 11 a.m. A potluck dinner with table service and drinks provided is at noon. All relatives and friends are encouraged to attend.
