Clifford J. Veronick

GILBERT - Memorial Mass for Clifford John Veronick, 76, of Gilbert, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert with Father Frank F. Perkovich celebrating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the Gilbert Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert.

Clifford Veronick

Clifford died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

He was born Dec. 23, 1932, to John and Rose (Vukonich) Veronick in Keewatin, Minn. He graduated from Gilbert High School and married Mary Mazar on Feb. 20, 1954. Clifford was a graduate of St. Cloud State University and was a teacher in Brainerd, Minn. In the early 1970s he returned to Gilbert and worked various jobs, including teaching. He was a gifted musician who enjoyed sharing his jazz music and played at exclusive locations during his music career. Clifford enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, cooking cheese poticas and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Gilbert; children, David (Julie) Veronick, of Anchorage, Alaska, Brian Veronick, of Embarrass, and Mary Kay Riendeau, of Gilbert; grandchildren, Nicole (Nicholas Duff) Koroshec, of Bloomington, Elizabeth and Richard Veronick, of Anchorage, Alaska; mother, Rose Veronick, of Virginia; brother, James Veronick, of Gilbert; and numerous nieces, nephews and aunts.

He was preceded in death by his father, John; and daughter, Renee Veronick.
