CROSBY -- A Harvest Festival will run rain or shine from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Hallett Community Center in Crosby.
All proceeds will go to community center youth scholarships.
Farmer's market food will be available, as well as hot dogs, brats, burgers and corn on the cob.
The day will include musicians, a zucchini bake/cook off, educational demos, bee expert, wool spinner, dog agility demo by area 4-H clubs, kids programs, corn husking contest, three-legged races/gunny sack races, taffy pull, corn husk doll making and a petting zoo.
Garrison, Mille Lacs Lake Lions to participate in Play Days
GARRISON -- The Garrison Lions and the Mille Lacs Lake Lions Club will join the Garrison community Saturday and Sunday to celebrate Play Days.
The Mille Lacs Lake Lions will offer homemade bakery items and 5-cent cups of coffee. Radda knives will be available for purchase.
The Garrison Lions will sell brats and soft drinks.
These activities will take place at the Lions pavilion by the playground in Garrison.
The Lions clubs also will sponsor children in the parade at 11 a.m. Saturday. Prizes will be awarded to children in costumes.
Both clubs sponsor glaucoma and diabetes machines. Diabetes and glaucoma screening will be held 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Light of the Cross church.
