Registration is now being taken for all middle school fall sports including seventh and eighth grade boys and girls soccer, grades 6-8 football, cross country running, girls tennis, girls swimming and grades 5-8 volleyball.

Baxter 12-U stays alive
The Baxter 12-and-under team defeated Scott County, Mo. 6-5 and Scotts Bluff, Neb. 15-5 Monday to remain alive in the Cal Ripkin Regional in Grand Island, Neb.
Baxter, which is fighting its way back through the losers bracket defeated Scotts Bluff in the third game of the tournament.
Logan Mattson pitched three innings not allowing an earned run and going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Evan Brecht and Quinn McElfresh each had three hits.
Against Scott County, the team that sent Baxter to the losers bracket, Tory Miller pitched the six-inning compete game. He gave up three earned runs, while striking out seven. Brecht had two hits and McElfresh drove in two runs.
The Baxter team played a team from Iowa 5 p.m. Tuesday to move into the championship game.
Baxter 11-U falls
The Baxter 11-and-under baseball team was eliminated from the Midwest Regional tournament following an 8-5 loss to the Southeast Denver team.
Jack Geraets, Hanson Devine and Lee Quick pitched. Luke West, Cole Foss and Devine each had two hits with Devine hitting a solo home run.
The team ended the tournament with a 3-2 record.
On Monday, Baxter lost to Missouri in the first round of double elimination 8-6.
The Baxter team finished the season with a 20-13 record.
