Nick Forsberg of Staples shot a 3-over 75 to place third in the Aug. 3 Minnesota Junior PGA Junior Golf Players' Cup at the St. Cloud Country Club. Forsberg shot nines of 36-39 to finish two shots behind Jack Holmgren of Corcoran and Nicholas Kuchera of Eagan.

Chamber tournament set for Aug. 19

The Brainerd Lakes Chamber is taking registrations for the 20th annual Chamber golf tournament and fundraiser Aug. 19 at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's.

The cost is $140 per player and includes lunch, 18-holes of golf with cart, dinner and prizes. The five-person scramble will begin with a noon shotgun.

Lakewood Classic Aug. 21

The 16th Lakewood Health Foundation's Golf Classic is scheduled for Aug. 21 at the Vintage in Staples.

Participants can choose between a 7:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. tee time. The fee is $500 for a team of five players or $100 per player and includes 18-holes of golf, participation prizes, door prizes, awards and meals.

A portion of the proceeds will go toward the building of a memorial garden at Lakewood Health System with the rest going toward supporting health related activities in the surrounding communities.

Jordan Memorial tournament

The fourth annual Joey Jordan Memorial Scholarship tournament is scheduled for 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Whitefish Golf Course.

The cost is $45 per player and includes cart and dinner.

Dan Schneider, Chaska, aced the 227-yard 15th hole of Bobby's Course at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's July 26 using a 20-degree hybrid.

John Thelen, Brainerd, aced the 95-yard ninth hole of Bobby's Course at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's July 26 using a lob wedge.

Joe Kavanaugh, East Gull Lake, aced the 134-yard 11th hole of Bobby's Course at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's Aug. 1 using a 52-degree wedge.

Sam Morse, St. Paul, aced the 135-yard 15th hole of the Lakes Course at Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge Aug. 4 using a pitching wedge.
