Lorraine Wolvert, age 93, resident of Brainerd, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at her home. Lorraine was born to Eugene and Amelia Magnan on April 25, 1916, in St. Mathias Township where she grew up and eventually met and married Merrill J. Wolvert on Oct. 1, 1936.
She loved dancing, playing cards, strawberries, traveling and most of all spending time with friends and family. She was an incredibly strong, adventurous, well humored and interesting woman; she set an amazing example for her family by her great faith in the Lord, confidence in his providence and content in his provision.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Neil (Joie) Wolvert, Amelia (Kenny) Niesen, Judy (Wally) Doeskin, Sam (Kathy) Wolvert, Claire (Jim) Melstrom, Loretta Eue, Lois Carkhuff and Joan (Michael) Fisher; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill; son, Larry; two grandchildren; and 14 siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at the St. Mathias Catholic Church with Father Steve Laflamme officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mathias Cemetery. Visitation times are Wednesday at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd from 4-7 p.m. with prayers at 6 p.m. and on Thursday one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Lakes Area Senior Activity Center.
