Ernest A. "Ernie" Wozniak, age 87, of Brainerd, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at St. Joseph's Medical Center.
Ernie was born in Cokato, Minn., Aug. 2, 1919, to Joseph and Johanna Wozniak. He married Rosemary McPherson in Carmel, Calif. Sept. 24, 1943. He served 1942-1946 in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired as vice president of First National Bank in Brainerd after 39 years of service. His memberships included St. Andrew's Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion - over 60-year member, Elks and Knights of Columbus. He had also served on the Housing and Redevelopment Authority board.
Survivors include his wife Rosemary A. Wozniak of Brainerd; his daughter Camille K. Wozniak of Blaine; brother Chester S. (Margaret) Wozniak of St. Louis Park.
He was preceded in death by his sister Bertha Kadlec of Hutchinson.
Ernie served 1942-1946 in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired as vice president of First National Bank in Brainerd after 39 years of service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd with visitation at the church beginning 9 a.m. Monday. Father Tim Wozniak will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 1647 Color Guard.
