BAXTER - Janice "Jan" T. Olive, 84, of Baxter, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Bethany Good Samaritan Hospice Care after being diagnosed with cancer three months ago.
Jan was born July 17, 1926, in Kimberly, Wis., the daughter of John and Bertha (Gruen) Weyenberg. After graduating from high school, Jan worked as a telephone operator during WWII. On April 19, 1947, she was united in marriage to Robert Olive and they spent 63 wonderful years together. When they retired, Jan and Bob traveled throughout the United States full-time in their RV visiting friends and family. They lived in Tucson, Ariz., before moving to Baxter three years ago.
Jan's interests were varied; she played golf, loved to travel and enjoyed crafts. She spent time everyday on her computer communicating with her family and friends.
Jan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be missed by her husband, Robert; her daughters, Pat (Greg) Kvale, of Baxter, Minn., and Lynne Hubert, of Bozeman, Mont.; her sister, Joan (Don) Westerberg, of Niagara, Wis.; her grandchildren, Laurel Hubert of Los Angeles, Calif., Luise Hubert, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Peter Kvale, of Duluth, Minn.; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jack Weyenberg.
A funeral mass for Jan will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kimberly, Wis., on September 17, 2010, at 4 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
