The water level in Lake Placid was to be drawn down beginning Wednesday by Minnesota Power as a safety precaution during ongoing repairs on the Pillager Dam. It will last 1-3 days.
The maximum drawdown will be approximately 4 feet. This decision was made in conjunction with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Boaters should be aware of potential hazards, such as stumps or rocks in the reservoir that would normally be under water.
