SEBRA picnic set
The Southeast Brainerd Residents Association will host its third annual picnic at 5 p.m. Sunday at the park on Pine Street.
The potluck event is open to all southeast residents and visitors.

The Crow Wing County Historical Society will participate in the Crow Wing County Fair. As a result, the museum in downtown Brainerd will be closed Aug. 5-13.
The following week, the historical society will sponsor a garage sale fund-raiser from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 18 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 19 at the county fairgrounds.
Members and friends of the historical society are being asked to donate items for the sale. Donations for the sale will be accepted from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 14-16 at the fairgrounds. Donations should be clean, usable and in working order.
Due to this event, the museum will be closed Aug. 18-19.
Brainerd Public Library to hold used book sale
Friends of the Brainerd Public Library will sponsor a used book sale in the Brainerd library's large meeting room Aug. 11-12.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 11 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 12.
The sale will include donated books and books withdrawn from the library's collection. There'll be special category books such as reference and travel, cookbooks and children's books. Prices for most books will be 50 cents, more for larger, newer books, and 25 cents for paperbacks or books in poor condition.
Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization which raises money to support library activities. Proceeds from the book sale will go to purchase new books and/or needed equipment that is not otherwise funded.
