Cass County Public Health will offer adult health clinics this month.
Public health nurses will assess at no charge: health history, blood pressure, blood glucose and medications management. Foot care will include cutting toenails and calluses at a cost of $10.
Pillager -- 12:30-2 p.m. Aug. 22, Pillager Senior Citizens Center.
Hackensack -- 1-4:30 p.m. Aug. 15, Hackensack Senior Center.
Cass Lake -- 9-11:30 a.m. Aug. 21, Four Seasons Apartments.
Longville -- 1-3 p.m. Aug. 16, YAH Senior Center.
Cass County public health nurses will do foot-care only for $10 from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 15 at Quam Court in Walker.
Bring a towel and basin to the clinics.
Pressure canner testing
to be done at Crow Wing Fair
Dial gauge pressure canners will be tested from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds' 4-H building.
Or bring dial gauges to the Crow Wing County Extension Office before Aug. 10 or call 824-1065 to set up a time for testing.
A dial gauge pressure canner should be tested every year for accuracy. There is not a charge for this testing conducted by the University of Minnesota Extension Service, Crow Wing County office.

Open house set Aug. 12
at Deep Portage
HACKENSACK -- At noon Saturday, Aug. 12, the public is invited to an open house at Deep Portage Conservation Reserve to see new buildings.
Lunch will be served at noon followed by a tour of the buildings and the open house. The buildings' grand opening will be at a later date.

Christmas Festival slated
in Wadena
WADENA -- The 25th annual Christmas Festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 25 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 26 in Wadena.
This year's theme is "Silver Bells." The festival will be held at Wadena Elementary School and Memorial Auditorium. Ninety artists will offer their crafts to holiday shoppers.
Performances during the weekend will include music, dancing and storytelling. Santa's helpers will serve Christmas cookies and the traditional Wassail. Artists will give craft demonstrations each day.
A $1 donation for anyone over age 12 will entitle people to come and go throughout the festival. Door prizes will be offered daily.
