20 years ago (1987)

Sandy O'Day of Brainerd carded a net 67 to claim first place in the championship flight at the women's invitational golf tournament at Wapicado Golf Club on Tuesday.

30 years ago (1977)

Cadets who participated in the bike-a-thon for the Crow Wing County Air Patrol after completing an 80-mile trek are Craig Holts, Jon Werner, Bill Ramig, Brent Rider and David Soderman.

40 years ago (1967)

A product manufactured in Brainerd is being used in the Vietnam war effort. The product is a wooden container for 155 millimeter mortar shells. The containers are being turned out by the Brainerd Woodcraft Company on South Eighth.

60 years ago (1947)

The Brainerd-Crow Wing County Airport, now in the course of construction will receive $120,000 of a $1,830,450 fund granted the state by government under the new federal and airport program.

80 years ago (1927)

Not every club in Rotary has the honor and distinction of being represented at International Rotary. The Brainerd club however had that honor and turned out 100 percent to welcome back George LaBar.

100 years ago (1907)

Dr. Beise reports that 25 children were born in this city during the past month while the deaths recorded number but six.
