The Brainerd Family YMCA will offer a Red Cross lifeguard training class starting Monday.

Upon completion of the course, participants will gain knowledge of lifeguarding and will be qualified to lifeguard at most pool facilities. Cost, including books and CPR mask, is $180.

Registration deadline is Saturday. Class size is limited.

Teens Read party set Saturday at library

Those who participated in the teen summer reading program will have an "end-of-the program" pizza party from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Brainerd Public Library.

The gathering will include pizza, pop and prizes and will be set in the large meeting room.

Airport commission to meet Aug. 7

The Brainerd-Crow Wing County Regional Airport Commission will meet 10 a.m. Aug. 7 in the airport conference room.
