Discounted grocery delivery service available

Nutrition Services, Inc. announces a service available to people throughout most of Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd and Wadena counties.

"Groceries To Go" is now being offered and includes up to a 15 percent savings on many items compared to grocery store prices. Products are fresh, name-brand items. Small package sizes for one to two people and large package sizes for families are offered for many items. Case sizes are also available.

Orders are taken by phone, order forms, fax and soon by the Internet. Food is packaged and delivered from a licensed facility in Brainerd. Weekly deliveries are available to homes or other locations, at a convenient time for customers. Refrigerated trucks are used for deliveries for which there is a small charge.

This service is not funded or subsidized by a government program. Therefore, there are no qualifications to get this service -- it is available to everyone on the delivery routes. Anyone who is on a fixed budget, doesn't have time to shop for groceries, doesn't have a grocery store handy or doesn't get to a grocery store will benefit from this service. Day-care providers and other food-related businesses may contact NSI about getting service.

NSI as an associated company serves nearly 1 million noon meals on wheels to seniors each year in 22 counties throughout Minnesota. Its high volume of food purchases allows NSI to get low pricing for food, which it can pass along to customers.

This service is not to be confused with a government funded, grocery shopping service that is available for seniors in some areas of Minnesota and paid for with taxpayer dollars.
