Basic scooter rider class
Scooter owners may bring their vehicles of up to 50cc size to ride in a basic rider course at Central Lakes College 5:30-10 p.m. Aug. 13 and either 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. or 2-7 p.m. Aug. 15 and Aug. 16.
Students may bring small scooters over 50cc or more than two horsepower and require a motorcycle operator's license. Scooter operators can earn the motorcycle endorsement required to operate their scooter on the street.
Students will need to have a valid motorcycle permit or one expired less than one year to test for their endorsement. They will need to present proof of current insurance on their scooter and it will need to pass a T-CLOCS inspection.
Please note with DVS' stricter testing enforcement for motorcycle endorsement, there are many small scooters that are 50cc that have more than two horsepower and require a motorcycle operator's license. These small scooters also are allowed, along with scooters over 50cc, in the regular basic rider course.
