DEERWOOD Helen Sugie Kantorowicz, Deerwood, Minn., formerly of Coon Rapids, Minn., died peacefully on July 29, 2004, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
She was born Oct. 22, 1939, in Black Eagle, Mont. Preceded in death by grandson, Nicholas, mother Helen, father Walter, stepfather, Chester, and brother Wally. Survived by soul mate and husband of 45 years, Daniel; beloved children Daniel (Patti), David (Sheri), Vicki Parsons and Jodi (Dan) Bursheim; grandchildren Christopher, Dustin, Joseph, Alexandra and one on the way; sister Carol; stepsisters, Jeanne Kantorowicz and Jackie Johnson. Also survived by children, Steve Frank and Toni Jo Zahara, of Great Falls, Mont.
Her contagious laugh and beautiful smile will be dearly missed by her family, neighbors and numerous friends. A very special thank you to Dr. Morar and the staff at Parker Hughes Cancer Center, as well as Dr. Hanski and the caring staff at St Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd, Minn. She was surrounded by very caring and wonderful people who helped her and her family through her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Parker Hughes Cancer Center, Roseville, Minn.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Washburn McReavy Seman Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids. Mass will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Epiphany Catholic Church, 111th and Hanson Blvd., Coon Rapids, with visitation one hour prior to service. There will be a private family interment. A mass will also be held at St. Josephs Catholic church in Deerwood officiated by the Rev. Howard Eisel on Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at 8:30 a.m.
