Dondelinger continues to lead Twilight league

Dondelinger remains in first place in the men's twilight golf league at Pine Meadows with 27 points.

Dondelinger, which defeated Thelen Heating 8-4 July 25, leads Bodyworks by 1.5 points. Bodyworks defeated American National Bank 7.5 to 4.5.

Cragun's to host Gophers outing

The Legacy Courses at Cragun's will host a "Save Gopher Sports" golf outing and banquet Aug. 11 in support of University of Minnesota's men's and women's golf programs.

The outing begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Social hour and banquet begin at 5 p.m. Cost is $200 per person. Non-golfers are welcome to attend the reception and dinner at the Legacy Clubhouse for $50.

Gophers men's golf head coach Brad James, and members of the 2002 NCAA national championship team will be on hand and will host a clinic before the scramble. Doug Woog, Greg Larson, Chip Lohmiller and other prominent Gophers, along with members of the Gophers' athletic staff, are also scheduled to be at the event.

Women's golf outing

Laurie Getz and Mary Lienke won the team alternate shot event in the women's golf outing at the Garden Course at Grand View Lodge.

Second place went to Pat Kaminski and Maxine Gifferson.

Lakes Golf League

The game July 25 at Pine River Country Club Lakes Golf League was low net score, guess your putts and longest putt on No. 9.

Gloria Taylor, Eunice Sorenson, Dorla Lind and Roxanne Thompson were winners of guess your putts.

Audrey Holland, Gloria Taylor, Joyce Shackle and Roxanne Thompson won low net and Janice Sheridan had the longest putt on No. 9.

Betty Hayes had a chip-in.

Birch Bay

Carol Bombardier of Brainerd was closest to the orange cone after her first shot on No. 4 in the Birch Bay women's social golf group July 22.

The Wednesday morning winner of the lowest putts on eight holes was Diane Galassi of Nisswa with 12.

The group meets Mondays after 4:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 8 a.m. All women are welcome.

Holes in one

Jared Hoppe of Baxter aced the 134-yard seventh hole on Bobby's Course at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's July 11 with a 7 iron.
