Man is in critical condition

A 34-year-old Columbia Heights man remained in critical condition today after nearly drowning Saturday in Eagle Lake near Fifty Lakes.
Daniel Fudali was admitted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
Fudali was swimming about 100 feet from the shore when he became distressed. Witnesses pulled the submerged Fudali out of the water and performed CPR.
A 12-year-old girl who was rescued from drowning in North Long Lake Sunday was treated at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd and released.
The girl, Dominique Shipman, St. Paul, and two friends were apparently floating in a large inner tube, when Shipman and another friend attempted to swim the tube back to shore. Shipman became distressed and started to go under the water.
