The following students were named to the dean's list for spring semester at The College of St. Scholastica: Heather Seim, Baxter; Marit Tretter, Brainerd; Holly Johnson, Deerwood; Anita Heying, Fort Ripley; Jandra Lubovich, Ironton; Rebecca Schmidt, Lake Shore; Allison Booker, Motley; Joshua Hall, Nisswa; Trisha Calander, Onamia; Adrea Baker, Kerry Marquardt and Michelle Petersen, all of Pequot Lakes; Aleisha Gaalswyk, Meghan Sebasky, and Bradley Vieths, all of Pillager; Stacia Sams, Staples; and Nicole Pickar, Verndale.
Michael Niemi, the son of Gary and Chris Niemi of Baxter, was awarded the AGC Education and Research Foundation Scholarship. Niemi's scholarship is worth $5,000. He will be a junior at North Dakota State University, majoring in construction engineering and management. He graduated from Brainerd high School in 1998.
Exchange students from China, Germany, Poland and Croatia will have the opportunity to attend Pillager High School, Wadena Deer-Creek High School, and Brainerd High School for the 2000-01 academic year, through the SHARE! High School Exchange Program. Kathy and Tom Ingbritsen/Hunt, Pillager, will host Yu Ning Loong, China; Carey and Ray Rasinski will host Melanie Buckenhuskus, Germany; Lottie and Don Bodie, Wadena, will host Olga Hrydzloszko, Poland; and Jeana Wetzel, Brainerd, will host Vladtka Sreback, Croatia.

Erin Greenwaldt has accepted a Campus Honor Scholarship to attend Bemidji State University this fall. She is a graduate of Staples/Motley High School, and plans to pursue a degree in social work. The scholarship values $600 and is a one-time award.
