GRAND RAPIDS - The Itasca Indians scored once in the fifth and held on to nip the Lakes Area Lightning 1-0 Sunday night in the final game of a best-of-three playoff series to reach the Region 6B amateur baseball tournament.
With two out in the bottom of fifth, and runners on first and third, Itasca scored on a double steal.
Aaron Jenkins pitched an eight-inning complete game for the Lightning. He struck out three, walked four and gave up seven hits.
Drew Boland was 2-for-4 and Tony Parrish doubled for the Lightning, who finish 9-12-1.
The Lightning threatened in the sixth, loading the bases with one out. In the ninth, the Lightning had runners at first and second with no outs before two line drives, the second of which was turned into a double play, ended the game.

The fifth-seeded Lightning split with No. 4 Itasca on Friday at Mills Field.
Brainerd won the first game 8-1 as Aaron Jenkins pitched a seven-inning complete game. He also went 4-for-4 with two RBIs.
Jenkins gave up eight hits, struck out eight, walked two and gave up one earned run.
The Lightning's Fred Weiss was 3-for-4 with an RBI, Morgan Shepherd was 2-3, Drew Boland 1-3, Mark Germain 2-3 with an RBI and Trevor Thompson 1-4 with an RBI.
Thompson pitched a six-inning complete game as Itasca won the second game 4-1.
