PAYNESVILLE -- The Crosslake/Fifty Lakes Legion baseball team split two games Friday in the District 6 Division II tournament.
In the first game, Crosslake/Fifty Lakes nipped Holdingford 2-1 in nine innings. Crosslake/Fifty Lakes won it in the bottom of the ninth as Todd Szymanski led off with a walk, stole second, was bunted to third and scored on a Bryce Szymanski single.
Todd Szymanski's RBI double in the sixth tied the game 1-1.
Winning pitcher Todd Szymanski struck out 17, walked two and gave up five hits and no earned runs.
In the second game, Sauk Centre shaded Crosslake/Fifty Lakes 6-4. Jesse Nelson was 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the first inning and Todd Szymanski was 2-4.
Chris Johnson pitched a complete game. He struck out four, walked two, hit five batters and allowed three earned runs.
Crosslake/Fifty Lakes trailed 4-2 with two out in the bottom of the seventh when a fly ball to center was dropped, tying the score. Sauk Centre scored twice in the eighth to win it.
