NEW YORK MILLS - Tiffany Besonen, Dawn Rossbach, and Kayleen Horsma, artists from Sebeka and Menagha area, are showing their oil and acrylic paintings, mixed media, sculpture, and prints at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center now through Aug. 28.
There is no charge for gallery admission. A free artists' reception will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
Besonen, artist and art teacher, earned her masters in art education from the University of Minnesota. Inspired by motherhood and nature, Besonen has shown her sculpture, video, photography,and paintings in New York City and throughout the United States. One of Besonen's featured works in this show is a wire sculpture titled "Honey Vessels."
Rossbach, an artist and art teacher, focuses on drawing, printmaking, book arts and mixed media. She has been influenced by the use of gold leaf in the ancient art of biblical illumination, a technique used in her nine-piece work titled "Road of Love."
Horsma's work is primarily watercolor and oil portraits. She is able to bring the individual character of her subjects to life using a strong chiaroscuro technique.
