A Crosby man convicted of robbing a Crosby bank in 1997 was sentenced in Crow Wing County District Court.

Jason A. Anker, 24, was found guilty June 13 of aggravated robbery and sentenced by Judge Frederick Casey to nine years prison.

Anker was also found guilty July 3 of escaping from custody, a felony, and was sentenced to 26 months in prison to be served concurrently with his robbery charges.

Anker's accomplice, Ryan A. Vollmer, was found guilty March 1 of first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and theft.

Vollmer was sentenced to 98 months in prison on April 3, but Crow Wing County Attorney Don Ryan said his lawyers are appealing the verdict.

The case stems from the Aug. 14, 1997, robbery of the Emily branch of the First National Bank in Crosby. Anker, displaying a handgun, entered into the bank and fled with about $10,000 in a getaway vehicle driven by Vollmer.
