Former Viking to be at Lunkers game
The Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers will welcome former Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl linebacker Matt Blair when they take on the Battle Creek Bombers at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at Mills Field.
Blair will be the honorary guest as a part of Minnesota Vikings Night presented by Miller Lite. He will be on hand to throw out the first pitch, sign autographs and meet and greet fans.
Blair was drafted by the Vikings out of Iowa State in the second round in 1974 and played his entire 12-year professional football career with the Vikings (1974-1985).

He played in six consecutive Pro Bowls (1977-82) and two Super Bowls. His punt block in Super Bowl IX led to the Vikings' only points in a 16-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Blair was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team, was selected Miller "Man of the Year for community service, was the most valuable linebacker in 1981, was All-Pro in 1980, All-NFC in 1978 and second-team All-NFC in 1977, 1979 and 1981.
Tickets for Minnesota Vikings Night and all Lunkers home games are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Lunkers' ticket office at Mills Field, 901 Q St. N.E., Brainerd.
