ST. CLOUD -- The Brainerd Blue Gills American Legion baseball team batted around the order and then some in the sixth inning to score seven runs and beat Cold Spring 12-2 Thursday at Farber Field in the second round of the District 6, Division 1 tournament.
Adian Kummet pitched six innings striking out seven, walking three and giving up five hits. The 2005 graduate helped his own cause by going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

Brainerd's Blake Eller was 3-5 with two RBI, Justin Huether 2-2 with two RBI and Tony Hennen was 3-3 with two RBI.
After falling behind 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Brainerd scored three runs in the fourth, seven in sixth and two more in the seventh inning.
The Blue Gills (27-3) play the St. Cloud 76ers 7 p.m. Thursday at Champion Field in Sartell. The two teams remain the only squads without a loss in the double elimination tournament.

SARTELL -- The Blue Gills broke up a scoreless game with three runs in the bottom of the eighth.
The first Brainerd run scored on an error on Huether's ground ball. Grant Eller's infield single scored the second run and Zach Heidmann drove in the final run with a base hit.
Brainerd left-hander Blake Eller pitched a complete game. He struck out three, walked two and gave up nine hits.
