Perian Norskov, the 1981 North Central Honey Queen, will appear at the Crow Wing County Fair this year. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Norskov of Brainerd, Miss Norskov was named Honey Queen at the North Central Beekeepers Association meeting in May.

Many Brainerd residents, alerted by the Civil Defense Warning System, watched a tornado move through the skies south of Brainerd yesterday evening. The tornado was reported to have touched down in a couple of places.

In years to come the folks who reside in northeastern Minnesota will look back to the summer of 1961 as one of the most ideal of the most enjoyable climatic conditions we have experienced. This opinion is shared by the residents of this area.

A heat wave, which has sent the mercury above the 90-degree mark on each day of the past seven, headed in to the second week today as a recording of 92 was reported at 2 o'clock this afternoon.

Although not admitted to the bar, the Silas Hall truck men handled more law today than many a regular practitioner. They were moving the law library of Judge W.S. McClenahan from the First National Bank Building to the new Courthouse.

Yesterday was a scorcher so far as the weather was concerned, and it is claimed that all former records of the weather bureaus in this portion for the same hours were broken, as the mercury climbed to 101.
