The Nisswa American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring a blood drive for the Red Cross from 1-6:30 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Individuals wishing to schedule an appointment should call either Pat at 568-4159 or Lynn at 963-7511. Walk-ins will not be turned away. Donors are always welcome.

Mall Caring Tree Aug. 1

The Westgate Mall, along with the Salvation Army, will help area children in need get ready to go back to school with the ninth annual Caring Tree.

The Caring Tree will be in the mall from Aug. 1-13. Last year the Caring Tree provided more than 200 lakes area children with school supplies and clothing.

From Aug. 1-13, Westgate Mall shoppers can visit the Caring Tree display located in the center court of the mall and choose a tag naming a specific child. Shoppers then purchase the item or items requested and return them to the Salvation Army along with the identification tag no later than 3:30 p.m. Aug. 15. The Salvation Army will distribute your gifts to those children in need located throughout Crow Wing County.
