Compared to Thursday, not enough slaughter steers and heifers for an accurate market test. Holstein steers steady in a light test. Slaughter cows steady to weak in a light test. Slaughter bulls not tested early. Near 250 feeders expected for the auction.

Steers: Not tested.

Holsteins: Few Select and Choice 2-3 1400-1500 lbs. 64.00-66.75.

Heifers: Not tested.

Cows: Boners 80-85 percent lean over 1050 lbs. 47.00-52.00 43.00-47.00; Lean 85-90 percent lean over 850 lbs. 42.00-48.00 38.00-42.00.

Bulls: Not tested.

For the week: Compared to late last week, slaughter steers and heifers 1.50 to 2.00 lower. Holstein steers steady to 2.00 higher. Slaughter cows 2.00 higher. Slaughter bulls steady.

Hog: 500.

Barrows & Gilts: Compared to Thursday, 1.50 higher.

47-50 percent lean 220-260 lbs. 50.50; 47-50 percent lean 260-270 lbs. 49.50; 46-48 percent lean 270-280 lbs. 48.50; 44-46 percent lean 280-290 lbs. 47.50; 44-46 percent lean 290-300 lbs. 46.50.
